Trump's inauguration
Donald Trump, a
businessman, television personality and politician, won the elections and
became the 45th president of the US. He won by talking about things
that have been concerning the American people for a long time.
After his inauguration on
the 20th of January, the new President took actions and he started
doing exactly what he had said. The first thing is that he signed an executive
order directing federal agencies to weaken Obamacare.
But after a day of the
inauguration, a worldwide protest which was called Women’s March took place to
support women rights, immigration reforms, freedom of religion and other
important things that are about to change with Trump as a president. The first
protest was planned in Washington D.C. and after that 673 marches were planned
worldwide. Whilst organizers expected nearly 200.000 people, 470.000 with
500.000 took part in these marches and that was in Washington only. Worldwide
the number of participants were up to 5 million.
What he did next, on
Tuesday, is that he revived the Keystone XL Pipeline project which Obama had
not. Furthermore, he is planning the construction of the border wall between
Mexico and the US and says that Mexican government should provide the funds.
Because of this the President of Mexico cancelled the meeting of him and Donald
Trump stating that Mexico will not pay for anything and that there should not
be any borders between countries. Moreover, President Trump will tighten border
security and will also temporarily ban Muslim immigrants from entering the US
especially from Syria.
Yesterday, he met with British prime minister Theresa
May and discussed about the UK and the US relationship. May said that UK will
continue buying and selling goods to the US after Brexit which will help UK’s
economy and will strengthen the two-countries relationship. However some people
criticize the Prime Minister for refusing to disapprove the policy of the ban
of Muslims in the US.
