This app is really helpful.It has the basic phrases you need if you want to communicate with someone and to make sure that you have learned these words it tests you.It has all the languages you want,Spanish,French,Greek,Turkish etc.This is the main but if you want some other options what would be helpful to you is also

Citymapper is a good app as it allows you to look up for streets if you are feeling lost.Of course,I and you use Google Maps to navigate public transports etc so for a change I started to use citymapper and it's a great app.

This app with more than 20 million downloads since it launched.It has a lot of business-oriented features but for a traveller like you it may be very useful in converting every single currency in the world so this way you may be able to plan your budget.It works offline too if you save the rates,which is great if you are in a place with a bad network connection or trying to save on data.

Splittr is mainly created for group travels in order to share costs between friends.The best thing about this app os that if you are travelling in more than one country is mixes the currencies by itself. so you don't have to do any conversion if you are not that quite good at maths.
